Since Fostex launched D2424LV in 2002, it has become one of the most reliable recorder/playback machine in studios, live performance and installation markets such as theme parks. However, the media market surrounding hardware recorders is changing rapidly and soon there will be no DVD-RAM/R/RW drive available for data backup.
Fostx engineers have decided to take some measures to extend the product life of D2424LV by introducing D2424LV MK2 without big change in its design and increase its cost. Now it has a Compact Flash Card slot in the second bay and you can easily backup the recorded data on the hard disk in the first drive onto a CF Card in the second drive in BWF. At the same time, as SCSI devices are no longer popular, we have removed SCSI from the rear panel. Hard drive can also be put into the second drive, modification for which should be made at our service department.
In order to avoid confusion, the followings are the status of optional items for D2424LV and MK2.
Fostex has already started production this month and D2424LV MK2 will automatically replace your order for D2424LV in Apr. ETD and after.
